Terms of Use

Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Focus Remote on devices you own or control, for controlling ETC Eos-family lighting consoles you are authorised to operate. All other rights are reserved.

Subscription: Focus Remote Pro

Focus Remote is free to download. The free tier — keypad, command-line echo, cue status, preset direct selects, diagnostics, one saved console — stays free. Focus Remote Pro ($29.99/year, auto-renewable) adds unlimited saved consoles, every direct-select bank, softkey and macro key pages, wheel/encoder control, live parameter readouts and the show-data view.

• Duration and renewal. Each subscription lasts one year from purchase and renews automatically until cancelled.
• Cancelling. Cancel any time on your device: Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions. The subscription stays active until the end of the paid year.
• Price changes. If the price changes, Apple notifies you in advance as Apple’s own terms require; the new price applies from the next renewal unless you cancel.
• Payment and refunds. Payment, renewal and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms. We cannot charge you directly and cannot issue refunds: for a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
• A lapsed subscription never interrupts a show. Pro features continue for 90 days past the expiry date, and the free tier — keypad, status line, diagnostics — works regardless of subscription state.

Acceptable use

Use the app only with consoles you are authorised to control, and only in ways that are safe for the venue, the rig and the people in it. Do not misuse the app, attempt to disrupt any console or network you do not operate, or represent yourself as operating on behalf of the venue or the console manufacturer without authority. You are responsible for checking the state of the rig before and after using a remote — a phone screen is not the desk.

No warranty

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Live performance is unforgiving: always have a fallback (the desk itself, or another control surface) for anything the show cannot lose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app — including a missed cue, a misfired cue or a lost connection.

ETC and Eos are trademarks of Electronic Theatre Controls, Inc. Focus Remote is an independent third-party product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by ETC.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.
